R309-525-8. Color Coding and Pipe Marking

The piping in water treatment plants shall be color coded for identification. The following table contains color schemes recommended by the Division. Identification of the direction of flow and the contained liquid shall also be made on the pipe.

     Fluoride Light Blue with Red Band

     Lime Slurry Light Green

     Potassium Permanganate Violet

     Sulfur Dioxide Light Green with Yellow Band

Waste lines

     Backwash Waste Light Brown

     Sludge Dark Brown

     Sewer (Sanitary or Other) Dark Gray
