NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION

Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:

Subsection 53A-1-401(3) allows the Utah State Board of Education (Board) to adopt rules in accordance with its responsibilities and Subsection 53A-6-802(8) requires the Board to make rules to administer the Paraeducator to Teacher Scholarship Program.

No written comment has been received.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

This rule continues to be necessary because a rule is required in statute and it provides application and accountability procedures and criteria for distribution of funds to paraeducators seeking to become licensed educators. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
