NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION

Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:

Section 73-18-3.5 states, "The board may appoint an advisory council representing various boating interests to seek recommendations on state boating policies." The board appoints those who are representative of the contingency for the interest(s) they represent. This rule allows them to do so.

Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:

No written comments have been received.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

With so many water safety issues in the State of Utah, this rule is necessary to help with boating safety and should be continued.
