NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION

Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:

Subsection 53A-1-402(1)(d) directs the Utah State Board of Education (Board) to adopt rules for state-reimbursed bus routes, bus safety, and operational requirements and other transportation needs, and Subsection 53A-1-401(3) allows the Board to adopt rules in accordance with its responsibilities.

Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:

No written comment has been received.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

This rule continues to be necessary because it provides standards for state student transportation funds, school buses, and school bus drivers under the control of school districts. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
