Under Section 23-24-1, the Wildlife Board is authorized to provide rules to administer and enforce the procedures to obtain compensation for livestock damage done by mountain lion, bear, or eagle.
Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:
The Division of Wildlife Resources and the Wildlife Board have not received any comments, either in support or opposition to Rule R657-24. Any comments received in opposition to the rule are resolved using existing policies and procedures or the issue is placed on the Regional Advisory Council and Wildlife Board agendas for review and discussion during the process for taking public input. The public is welcome to view the administrative record for this rule at the Division of Wildlife Resources.
Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:
Rule R657-24 provides the procedures, standards, requirements, and limits for obtaining compensation for damages to livestock by mountain lion, bear, or eagle. Continuation of this rule is necessary for continued success of this program.
