The adoption assistance committees provide a valuable resource for department staff and the public. The presence of this rule within the department rules ensures a consistency and impartiality that is important in creating fair outcomes for members of the public. In addition, current law clearly requires the Department create and make rules relating to these committees. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
