Under Sections 23-14-18 and 23-14-19, the Wildlife Board is authorized and required to regulate and prescribe the means by which wildlife may be taken.

The Division of Wildlife Resources has not received any written comments regarding this rule. Any comments received in opposition to the rule are resolved using existing policies and procedures or the issue is placed on the Regional Advisory Council's and Wildlife Board's agenda for review and discussion during the process for taking public input. The public is welcome to view the Regional Advisory Council minutes, Wildlife Board minutes, and administrative record for this rule at the Division.
Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:
This purpose of this rule is to allow the division flexibility with participants in the Targeted Predator Control Program for effectively controlling coyotes in a targeted area that are detrimental to mule deer production. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
