Subsection 53-8-204(5)(e) requires the division to make rules establishing program guidelines for a school district that elects to implement a safety inspection apprenticeship program for high school students.

Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:

The agency received one comment regarding interest in an apprenticeship program. The constant supervision of the apprentice and the requirement to registered as an Automotive Technician Apprentice with the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, U.S. Department of Labor may make this a complicated process.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

Subsection 53-8-204(5)(e) requires the division to make rules establishing program guidelines for a school district that elects to implement a safety inspection apprenticeship program for high school students. This program is not used but is required by statute and is available to any high schools interested. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
