NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION

Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:

Section 31A-19a-211 provides an opportunity for those who are 55 years of age or older to have a reduction in their motor vehicle insurance premium rates if they have successfully completed an approved motor vehicle accident prevention course as outlined in this rule.

Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:

No written comments have been received.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

This rule is needed so individuals over 55 can have an opportunity to lower their motor vehicle insurance premium rates by taking an approved motor vehicle accident prevention course based upon the criteria outlined in this rule. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
