    NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION

    Section 4-30-3 and Section 4-2-2 authorize the Department to enact rules that will promote the selling of livestock and fair market practices.

    Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:

    The Department has not received any comments supporting or opposing the rule.

    Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

    Livestock markets play a vital role in providing a means whereby producers can receive a fair price for the livestock commodity being sold. They help to maintain the viability of the largest sector of the agriculture economy and are essential to maintaining the economic viability of the industry. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
