Execution and registration requirements for death certificates are described in Section 26-2-13. The statute gives the state registrar the authority to direct the manner in which deaths are registered.

Rule R436-7 specifies the procedure for completing a death certificate when information necessary is not available within the time limits required by statute. The rule is necessary to ensure that deaths are registered in a timely manner when information is missing. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
