Under Sections 23-15-9 and 23-15-10, the Wildlife Board is authorized to provide standards and procedures for institutional aquaculture, private fishponds, short-term fishing events, private fish stocking, and displaying aquaculture products or aquatic wildlife in aquaria.

No written comments supporting or opposing Rule R657-16 were received since 09/20/2002, when the rule was last reviewed.

Rule R657-16 provides the procedures, standards, and requirements for: institutional aquaculture, private fish ponds, short-term fishing events, private fish stocking, and displaying aquaculture products or aquatic wildlife in aquaria. The provisions adopted in this rule are effective. Continuation of this rule is necessary for continued success for allowing institutional and private fish ponds, and short-term fishing events.
