NOTICE OF REVIEW AND STATEMENT OF CONTINUATION

Concise explanation of the particular statutory provisions under which the rule is enacted and how these provisions authorize or require the rule:

Subsections 53A-1-402(1)(b) and (c) directs the Board of Education (Board) to make rules regarding competency levels, graduation requirements, curriculum, and instruction requirements; and Section 53A-1-401 allows the Board to make rules to execute the Board's duties and responsibilities under the Utah Constitution and state law.

Summary of written comments received during and since the last five-year review of the rule from interested persons supporting or opposing the rule:

No written comment has been received.

Reasoned justification for continuation of the rule, including reasons why the agency disagrees with comments in opposition to the rule, if any:

Rule R277-705 continues to be necessary because it provides alternative methods for a student to earn credit and alternate methods for a school to award credit. Therefore, this rule should be continued.
